Tadeusz Skoczkowski

Head, Division of Rational Use of Energy, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology

Professor Tadeusz Skoczkowski, PhD, DSc, El. Eng. (Warsaw University of Technology, Head of the Department of the Rational Use of Energy); specialist in electrical circuits, electromagnetic field theory, power electronics, electrical machines and drives, electroheat technologies, numerical modelling of coupled fields, energy management, new energy technologies, energy sustainable energy policy and associated socio-economic issues.

Author of 3 books, 10 patents and more than 250 scientific papers and presentations; author of numerous analyses and reports on energy prepared for the Polish government; Scientific Secretary of Electrotechnical Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences – PAS (since 1996); represented PAS at the Energy Platform Euro-CASE (2012-2014); Technical Secretary of TC 27 “Industrial electroheating” equipment in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Genève, 1995-2010; Since 2008, the core theme leader in the Concerto Action on Energy Efficiency Directive, chairman of the group on energy efficiency in the public sector.

He worked in international EU projects in FP5, FP6, FP7: SAVE, ALTENER, Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE). He represented Poland in different international bodies, e.g. in Energy Efficiency Group in the Energy Charter Secretariat (1999-2008), Advisory Committee for IEE (2004-2010), Advisory Group on Energy Horizon’2020 (2013-2017); member of several scientific boards and professional societies, e.g. the Board in the European Council for Energy Efficient Economy, 2007-2010.

He received several scientific awards, e.g. the Award of the Scientific Secretary of the PAS, the Award of the Minister of High Education, the IEC Award’1906; the “Smart Grid Leader 2013” Award.
